  • Robert John Goss, 18, beloved son, grandson, and great-grandson, passed away suddenly on October 14, 2013, from a pulmonary embolism at Providence Hospital in Kansas City, Kan.

  • Robert John Goss, 18, beloved son, grandson, and great-grandson, passed away suddenly on October 14, 2013, from a pulmonary embolism at Providence Hospital in Kansas City, Kan. He was born February 13, 1995 at Kansas University Hospital, was a recent graduate from Lansing High School and was in the culinary arts program at Kansas City Kansas Community College. After completing the program, he was planning to pursue a degree in microbiology. He is survived by his parents, Charla Norman and Brent Goss, both of Leavenworth, stepmother, Elena Goss and younger sister, Christina, 3. On his maternal side, he is survived by his Aunts Rhonda Schmoldt, Starla Lewis, Liz Messinger, Shelly Moritz and Uncle George Messinger, 15 first cousins and 13 second cousins from Oklahoma. On his paternal side, he is survived by his Great-Grandfather Jim Stafford, Great-Grandmother Ruby Emge, and Grandparents Robert and Mona Goss, of Leavenworth. In addition, he is survived by Great Uncle and Aunts, Larry and Jan Emge, Dawn Robinson, and Dale Stafford, Cousin Kurtis Kupiszewski, of Leavenworth, Aunt Brook and Uncle Jeff Dorman, and Cousins, Bailey and Taylor, in Texas, Uncles and Aunt, Scott and Mechall Goss, Greg Goss and Cousin, Nina, in Florida, among other relatives in several different states.
    Robert will be greatly missed for his bright wit, thirst for knowledge, and especially his gentle, kind, generous, and loving spirit.
    A memorial will be held at Davis Funeral Chapel, 531 Shawnee, Leavenworth, Kan., October 17, at 6 p.m. followed by food and beverages at The Café in the Abernathy Building, 1102 2nd Ave., Leavenworth.
    In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you make donations in Robert's name, to the American Cancer Society.
