  • The EMS Cats cross country teams competed at the Winfield MS CC Meet on Saturday morning.
“It was cold. All the runners on our team PR’ed, which means we love running when it is cold,” said EMS head coach Les Limon.
Grace Myers and Cale Carson finished second in both of their races.
Other medal winners were: Ezekiel Kemboi, 4th place; Cassidy Hamilton, 5th place; Jarin Koehler, 5th place; Christian Price, 7th place; Adam Haines, 8th place and McKenna Stewart, 10th place.
“The seventh grade boys had four runners in the top 10 spots, which means they did well as a team,” said Limon.
Each runner knocked off 2 to 4 minutes from the time they ran at Clearwater with the temperature in the mid-90s.
This race was the second and last race where the EMS 8th graders ran a two mile race.
“We are ready for the League Meet which will be Oct. 14 and our own invitational on Tuesday, Oct. 8,” said Limon.
