Lorenzia Bryant passed away at Delmar Garden in Overland Park at 9 a.m. Oct. 3, 2013. He was born June 30, 1935 in Holly Grove, Ark., to Terrie Bryant and Emmerlean (Gooden) Walker. His uncle and aunt, Ulysee and Vallie Woods, raised him Woods whom he called mom and daddy. He attended Holly Grove Vocational High School in Holly Grove. In 1952 he was married to Sandra J. Clark. Shortly after that he moved to Kansas City, Mo. He was employed by U.S. Engineering Company for over 40 years. He retired as a laborer foreman.
He is survived by three daughters, Casandra Matthews of Kansas City, Mo., Loretta Smith and husband Steven of Chicago, and Antoinette Bryant of Chicago; three sons, Michael Bryant of Chicago, Donald Brown of Kansas City, Mo., and Damon Bryant of Kansas City, Mo.; sister, Martha J. Kimble and husband Roy of Arlington, Texas; and two brothers, Clarence Walker and wife Esther or El Dorado and Robert Walker of El Dorado.
Homegoing will be Saturday at Zion Grove Baptist Church, 2801 Swope Parkway in Kansas City, Mo.
He was proceeded in death by his uncle and aunt, Ulysee and Hallie Woods, whom he called Daddy and Mom; his father, Terrie Bryant; step-father and mother, Bronia Walker and Emmerlean, whom called Bronia Daddy and Little Mom; and one great son.
