The last two weeks have been like a roller-coaster for the Lady Mustangs.

On September 24th Flinthills travelled to Central Burden to take on Central and Elk Valley.

The Lady Mustangs defeated Central 25-20, 25-10 and Elk Valley 25-16, 25-13. Londyn Doll had 14 kills followed by Brittanae Metzger with nine.

Bayley Reiswig had a real good receiving night passing the ball really well.

The following Saturday Flinthills travelled back to Central Burden for the Central Tournament.

The Lady Mustangs were unable to get out of pool play losing to Sedan 25-15,15-25 and 23-25 and Argonia 16-25 and 9-25.

Flinthills defeated Caney Valley 25-13 and 25-17.

“We started off really well playing good against Sedan but then played poorly,” said Mustangs head coach Kent Harms.

Against Argonia the Mustangs were ahead 16-13 and playing well until they were unable to break serve receive losing the first set 16-25.

“We never rebounded playing poorly the next set losing 9-25,” said Harms.

The Flinthills three freshman tried to carry the Mustangs with Payton Gawith serving 34-35 with 6 aces and setting 26 assists.

Olivia Leslie had 10 kills for the day and freshman setter Alyssa Howard served 19-20 with 4 aces.

Last Tuesday the Mustangs traveled to Cedarvale and defeated Cedarvale/Dexter 22-25, 25-20 and 25-16 before losing to Argonia 16-25 and 25-27.

“The girls played much better pulling it together against the home school after losing the first set. Then trailing Argonia 14-21 we rallied to tie the first set 24-24 before losing,” said Harms.

Brittanae Metzger had a good night attacking, registering 8 kills and no misses. Amanda Bell had 7 kills with only one miss. Londyn Doll led the team in serve receive and passing.

The Lady Mustangs are now 14-9.
