It’s time for the Annual Frontiers Day celebration in Douglass.
The following is an event schedule:
Thursday - Saturday (Oct. 10-13)
Carnival by WEEE Entertainment will be set up in the downtown area. On Thursday and Friday $20 for all you can ride, but must purchase a wristband each night. Saturday is ticket purchase only.
7 - 11 p.m. on Thursday and Friday, and after the parade on Saturday morning.
7:30 - 9:30 a.m. Sausage gravy biscuit breakfast at the Senior Center
9:30 - 11:30 a.m. Book signing by author Lawrence Alley at the Douglass Public Library
10 a.m. - 2 p.m. Arts, Crafts & Gifts at the Community Building
9 a.m. - 3 p.m. County Fair at the Library. Display your best and compete for prizes. Entries must be at the Douglass Public Library no later than 8:45 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 12th. Call 746-2600 for more information.
10 a.m. to ? Food Court at the Community Building
10 a.m. Parade downtown starts at the City Shop, 224 S. Poplar. Registration at the City Shop Only pre-registered entries will be considered for prize money.
11 a.m. - immediately following the parade at the Event Stage: Crowning of 2013 Miss Frontiers Day, 2013 Mayor’s Contest winners, Raising Faith Mime Team performance
A raffle drawing will be displayed at 213 S. Forrest. Photography Contest winners displayed at the County Fair
11 a.m. - 1 p.m. Kids Carnival at the Library
11 a.m. - 3 p.m. Shine and Show Car Show. Come and show off your car, not matter what year, make or model - if you’re proud of it, then show it off? Please pre-register. email -roneil@cityof douglassks.com, 214-5993.
11 a.m. Heroes Square at the Fire Station. Fire and rescue equipment will be on display. All veterans are welcome!
1 p.m. Digital Scavenger Hunt registration. For more information, call City Hall at 747-2109.
2 p.m. Digital Scavenger Hunt begins
4:30 p.m. Ice cream served by CornerBank
5 p.m. First annual Calf Dressing. Teams of four will compete for bragging rights as the Calf Dressing Champion. This will be held at the NW corner of Third and Forrest St. Bring your lawn chairs and plan to laugh and cheer a lot! For information call Jenni O’Crowley at 640-7965 or City Hall at 747-2109.
5:30 p.m. check in for Karaoke Contest
6 p.m. Karaoke Contest in the Community Building
5 p.m. Community-wide Chili Supper and Praise Sing in the Community Building. Chili, dessert and a drink will be provided. There is no charge for this event, but donations will be accepted with all proceeds going to the Douglass Ministerial Alliance.
