DOUGLASS–The Douglass Bulldogs football team feared the worst when star running back Austin Titus had an MRI taken Monday.
Coach Jeff Ast confirmed it Tuesday. Titus tore his ACL Saturday early during the first half of the Bulldogs' game against Bluestem. He will miss the remainder of the season.
Titus had to be helped off the field after a tough run and did not return.
A junior for the Bulldogs, Titus was the team's leading rusher. He had rushed for more than 200 yards in two consecutive games and already had a good game going with 71 yards and two scores against Bluestem.
With Titus out, the Bulldogs' offense likely will turn to several other running backs, including Drew Chadic, who got a lot of carries Saturday after Titus was taken out.
