  • SBA Foundation to host Gala III Friday

  • Susan B. Allen Memorial Hospital has been a steadfast fixture in the community since it was established in 1931 with a philanthropic gift by Frank S. Allen. Named in honor of Allen’s mother, Susan B. Allen Memorial Hospital continually adapts to the changing needs of the community and provides a wide range of healthcare services to the area.
    The Susan B. Allen Memorial Foundation is dedicated to helping the Hospital fulfill its mission of providing compassionate, professional healthcare to the community. Acting as the fundraising arm of SBAMH, the Foundation accepts charitable gifts to be used for maintaining and improving the programs and services at the Hospital, a non-profit institution committed to a healthier community.
    The Foundation’s signature fundraiser, GALA III – Champions for Health is the third annual event hosted by Foundation and will be held on the north terraces of the BG Products Veterans Sports Complex Friday.
    Maurice LoMonaco, the featured performer for the evening, is a classically influenced singer/songwriter and a lyrical tenor with an expansive repertoire of more than a thousand songs in five languages. He performs a wide range of genres, including, Rock, Jazz, Gospel, R&B and musicals. Born in Palermo, Sicily, LoMonaco currently resides in Naples, Fla., with his wife Maddalenna and has performed throughout Europe and the United States.
    In addition to the performance by LoMonaco, the GALA III will have multiple food stations prepared by Great Western Dining, treat samples from the shops at District 142, as well as a live and silent auction. The major sponsors for the evening are Barbara and Ted Dankert, HollyFrontier El Dorado Refining, Albert Hogoboom Oilfield Trucking Inc., Intrust Bank, Jennifer and Bob Lane, and Sundgren Realty and Auctioneers.
