  • Augusta's freshman football team struggled to finish drives in the red zone against Clearwater, and the Indians used big plays on offense to run away with a 28-0 win Monday at Hillier Stadium.
The Orioles were down 14-0 at halftime, then the Indians started the third quarter with a big kickoff return for a score. The Indians added a late score on a big run after a defensive breakdown.
Augusta's junior varsity team returned the favor. The Orioles' defense smothered Clearwater all game long to the tune of a 28-0 shutout.
Chase Hull got the scoring started in the second quarter after he busted loose on the left side for a 42-yard scamper to put Augusta up 7-0. The Orioles blew the game open in the second half and never looked back.
The freshman and JV teams next will host Andale Monday evening at Hillier Stadium.
