  • Things to do Homecoming Week
    Monday, Oct. 7: "Paint the Town"
    Augusta High School student groups will have painted spirit signs to be displayed in businesses around town. Signs will be delivered by Chamber of Commerce ambassadors.
    "Coins for the Caring Center"
    Coin collecting begins at all Augusta schools. The school collecting the most money for the Community Caring Center will receive the traveling trophy at Thursday's Pep Rally. 'Coins for the Caring Center" continues Tuesday, Oct. 8, Wednesday, Oct. 9, and Thursday, Oct. 10.
    Tuesday, Oct. 8:
    Pink Out Night For AHS Volleyball 5 p.m. at the high school
    Thursday, Oct. 10: Favorite Sport/Team Day
    Community Tailgate Party
    The party runs from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. outside AHS Hillier Stadium. Enjoy a $5 meal. Sixteen businesses will be donating food and drink.
    "O-Zone"
    5:30 p.m. until the line stops forming. Big Sky Party Rentals will be bringing their Hamster Balls! $5 for a great time!
    Community Pep Rally
    7 p.m. at AHS Hillier Stadium. Will include the AHS Band, Cheerleaders and Dance Team. Homecoming candidates will be announced and the Community Hero Award recipient announced. "Coins for the Caring Center" winner will also be announced.
    Powderpuff Game
    Immediately following the pep rally at the stadium.
    Friday, Oct. 11 - "Orange & Black Day"
    AHS Homecoming festivities; pep assembly, crowning, game and dance
    "O-Zone" will be back outside Hillier Stadium.
    Saturday, Oct. 12
    2013 Spirit Parade at 10 a.m. downtown (registration form needed for entries)
    Yesteryear Fair following the parade at the Historical Museum.
    Homecoming T-Shirts
    Don't forget to order special Homecoming t-shirts with the cool Blast from the Past logo, which features the progression of the Augusta Oriole mascot/logo.
    To order, leave a message at the Chamber of Commerce office 775-6339. Don't forget to include the sizes of the shirts you are ordering.
    2013 Spirit Parade entries
    Any groups, individuals or organizations who want to be in the Homecoming Parade on Saturday, Oct. 12 can register by contacting Connie Thurman at 775-2482. The theme is "Blast from the Past" and cash prizes of $250, $150, and $100, respectively will be awarded for the top three floats selected by judges.
