James Junior Wilson, 86, of El Dorado, died Wednesday, Sept. 25, 2013 at his home. Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Carlson Funeral Home, El Dorado. Interment will follow in Sunset Lawns Cemetery.
James was born on July 23, 1927 in Rocky Ford, Colo., the son of James Moodie and Lola Pearl (DeMoss) Wilson. He graduated from El Dorado High School in 1943, and received an Associate Degree from Butler Community College. He had served in the United States Army. He was a member of the American Legion; First Nazarene Church; enjoyed gardening, traveling, camping, and especially the time spent with his family.
On Dec. 31, 1970, James and Naomi Nadine Dodson were united in marriage at the First Nazarene Church in El Dorado. She preceded in death on Dec. 9, 2012.
Those who survive include his children, James and Holley Wilson of Plantation, Fla., Sherry and Jerry Compton of El Dorado, Vickie Parsons and Ken Bledsoe of Haysville, David Parsons of El Dorado, Staci Wilson and Stephen Ellsworth of Augusta and Troy Wilson of Augusta; 13 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Ruth Brooks and Ruby Heap; and a brother, Aaron Wilson.
