  • After Belinda’s nice article about Mr. Taylor doing work for the city, we took a drive around the lake last week and decided it was like an abused child, abandoned and neglected. And our apologies to the walkers we coated with dirt from a very dusty road. ...We were only going 15 mph. We applaud Mr. Taylor’s hard work.

We appreciate Mr. Crum and other legislators who stand up to the education establishment. Education has become a huge entitlement program that expects the public to fork over more money for a very spoiled group of people. For instance, KPERS is in financial trouble, yet retired teachers are allowed to double dip (collect retirement and return to teaching or administering with pay) in areas that are not scarce. We urge Mr. Crum to continue taking a stance against such entitlements.
