  • What do you look forward to about serving as chief?
I’m very excited to have the opportunity to lead this great department. We’ve got a motto of “community safety partners in service.” We have an emphasis on professionalism and individual integrity. I’m looking forward to bolstering some partnerships we have had in the community and starting some new ones. I’m very excited and ready to move on and forward.
What do you enjoy about being at the police department?
I grew up in El Dorado. This has been my hometown. I decided in 1980 to start a career in law enforcement, and the city of El Dorado and this department have been very good to me. I’ve found a home here and I have enjoyed all aspects of it.
    Past experience:
Curt Zieman has been with the city of El Dorado for 33 years, and most recently served as the interim police chief since May of 2013. Zieman originally started with the City of El Dorado in 1980 as a public safety officer when the Police and Fire Departments were combined. His career has included serving as patrol sergeant, lieutenant, and most recently deputy chief with the Department.
