Augusta's freshman volleyball team had complete control of its home triangular Thursday in Hutter Gymnasium.

It took a while in the opening set before the Orioles pulled away from Wellington. Augusta then dominated Set 2 on way to a 25-15, 25-9 win. The Orioles closed the day with a 25-19, 25-15 win against the El Dorado Wildcats.

Against the Crusaders, the Orioles took their first big lead when Kylee Guilliams served well to spark a 7-0 run. Guilliams had one of her two aces, and Alison Macari had a pair of kills during the stretch. She had four kills in the set. Jaylean Watkins, Kalee Guilliams and Jaden Peterson led a strong defensive effort for Augusta.

Wellington fell apart in Set 2 with several errors as Augusta rolled to the win.

The Orioles compete at Bluestem Saturday.
