  • Thank you Tim Johnson. The motel proposal sounded like so much double talk, but I wasn't sure. Now I can only hope that the City government won't turn the City checkbook over to those who seem to be afraid of the free enterprise system. Want a new restaurant? There are four closed ones, so open one and let the free market decide.

I appreciate Belinda Larsen continuing to remind us that we have some pretty nice and special people living in our little town. Thanks, Belinda.

Why does everything have to be so hard? There’s absolutely nothing wrong with giving a hotel some tax incentives. This town could certainly use a nice hotel and as a tax payer, I don’t have a problem with making Augusta look attractive to the potential business.

Stan Taylor is a great guy and it’s nice to see him getting some recognition for the work he’s doing around the lake.
