The City of Andover is happy to announce the 1‐cent sales tax that was utilized to pay for a new city hall facility will end fifteen months early. The sales tax was enacted October 1, 2010 and was scheduled to end on December 31, 2014. Due to better than anticipated revenues, it will now end on September 30, 2013.
"The citizens of Andover can be proud of their beautiful city hall facility, which will be paid for in full in 3 short years," stated City Administrator Sasha Stiles. "Sales tax is a useful financing tool that allowed City leaders to build a much needed facility without adding long‐term tax burden to property owners through a mill levy increase."
On October 1, the sales tax in the City of Andover will reduce to 7.4%.
