Alice Finley, rural Augusta, was awarded the Professional “Best of Show” ribbon for her “Native Impressions” quilt at the Kansas State Fair.
The quilt was designed using native art, shapes and colors.
Mrs. Finley stated, “I like the way native art reflects faith, family and tradition.”
She was able to attach her own personal symbolism to the various shapes and patterns. The quilt measures 106 inches wide and 112 1/2 inches in length, and is completely hand quilted.
This is the third year that Mrs. Finley has entered a quilt. Last year’s design “Christmas Feathered Star” won a first place blue ribbon.
