  • The El Dorado Lady Wildcats hosted a home triangular on Alumni Court on Tuesday night with the visiting Winfield Vikings and Circle Thunderbirds.
    The Lady Wildcats first took on Winfield and was able to grab the victory in the minimum of two games winning, 25-13 and 25-8.
    In the second match of the night the two visitors squared off with each other and the Thunderbirds defeated the Vikings, also in two games going, 25-11 and 25-13.
    In the feature match of the evening, the Butler County rivals, El Dorado and Circle, faced each other for the first time this season.
    The Lady Thunderbirds won a relatively convincing first game 25-20.
    But the Wildcats would not go out so quitely.
    El Dorado stormed out in the second game grabbing an early lead and pacing the Thunderbirds to a 25-15 victory.
    Again the Wildcats looked to upset the Thunderbirds earning an early lead in the third and deciding game but Circle stayed within striking distance with El Dorado’s unforced errors.
    The Wildcats went on a rally going up on the Thunderbirds 24-21 with match point on serve before side out went to the Thunderbirds.
    Circle rattled off 5 straight points on serve to defeat the Lady Wildcats 26-24, shocking the El Dorado crowd.
    The Wildcats will travel to Mulvane next Tuesday and Circle will host Ark City tonight at home.

    El Dorado defeats Winfield: 25-20, 25-8
    Circle defeats Winfield: 25-11, 25-8
    Circle defeats El Dorado: 25-14, 25-14
