  • A 36-year-old man from Potwin was killed in an accident involving a semi this morning.
    Deputies, Butler County EMS, Rescue 15, El Dorado Fire, and Towanda Fire were dispatched to an injury accident involving semi and a small pickup at NW 10th Street and Highway 196 this morning.
    According to the report, the accident occurred at 9:44 a.m. T
    Deputies arrived on scene and learned the semi, driven by Henry J. Przylucki, 54, of Elk River Minn., was traveling northbound on K-196 when a 1989 Mitsubishi pickup traveling southbound, driven by Justin S. Weiss, 36, of Potwin, crossed the center line and entered into the northbound traffic lane.
    The two vehicles struck head-on. The driver of the semi was transported to Wesley Hospital complaining of shoulder and knee pain (Code Yellow). The driver of pickup was pronounced deceased at the scene by Butler County EMS.
    The investigation at the scene revealed the driver of the pickup was not wearing his seat belt. The driver of the semi was wearing his seat belt.
    Both vehicles sustained heavy front end damage. Heartland Towing towed the pickup from the scene and Arrow Towing towed the semi from the scene.
