John Lamb, 85, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 3, 2013. Celebration of his life will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Towanda First Baptist Church in Towanda.
John was born Dec. 3, 1927, in Leon, to parents Russell and Floy (Gray) Lamb. He graduated from El Dorado High School. John also was in the U.S. Navy and was a WWII veteran. He worked at Pester Refinery in El Dorado as a pipe fitter foreman and then a maintenance superintendent till he retired. John was married to Betty (Frazier) on June 28, 1968 in El Dorado. John was a member of the American Legion and VFW. He loved living in south Texas where he had many dear and loved friends. He also enjoyed, camping, dancing and visits from his family.
Surviving family members his sister, Lois (Cooper) Lamb; children, Mark (Stephanie) Lamb of St. Joseph, Mo., Coeta Ward of El Dorado, Jack Ward of Wichita, Vanessa Hummel (Von) of Towanda; grandchildren, Nick, Ben, Issac and Elaina Lamb, Lacy Cary, Chad and Jason Isom, Chris Harris, Bob and Jackie Ward, and Beau and Tyson Hummel; seven great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. John also leaves behind beloved nieces who will miss him dearly.
John was preceded in death by his son, Mike; wife, Betty; son, Zachary; his parents; and sisters, Mary Lamb, Viola (Stephenson) Lamb, Dorothy (Wilson) Lamb and Percy Lamb.
