As we approach the Labor Day Weekend, meteorologists expect these steamy high temperatures to continue to cook the region for the next few days.
No heat advisories have been issued at this point, but South Central Kansas is forecasted to experience heat indices ranging between 100 and 107 degrees from this afternoon through Saturday.
A break from the stifling conditions is expected to arrive late Saturday/early Sunday, as a cold front moves into the area.
As that front passes through, it could stir up some isolated showers and thunderstorms – primarily during the day on Sunday and into Sunday evening. No severe weather is anticipated with this system.
It is, however, expected to drop our highs down into the upper 80’s just in time for Labor Day. If you have outdoor plans for the holiday, weather conditions are currently predicted to cooperate, bringing clear, sunny skies on Monday along with those more seasonable temperatures. Enjoy and be safe (and we’ll let you know if anything changes)!
