  • Larry Train, 71, of Augusta, passed away Sunday, Aug. 25, 2013. Viewing will be from 1 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, with family to greet friends from 6-8 at Headley Funeral Chapel, Augusta. Service will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at First Baptist Church, Augusta. Burial will follow at Elmwood Cemetery, Augusta. Larry was born in McPherson on March 2, 1942, to the late Ruth Catherine (Tucker) and Kermit LeRoy Train. He retired as the owner of Augusta Tire and Auto after 41 years. He was also the former owner of Butler County Tire and Midway Auto Service. Larry was a member of Mystic Tie Masonic Lodge and Midian Shrine. He was a big supporter of Butler County 4-H. On March 1, 1963 he was married to Shirley (McCormick) in Wichita who survives him. He is also survived by: sons, Craig Train and Jeremy Train and fiancé Cindy Pletcher of Augusta; brother, Dennis Train of Andover; sisters, Kerma Karoly and husband John of Chicago, Ill., and Marilynn Drescher and husband Don of Hollywood, Fla.; brother-in-law, Stan Cook of Nashville, Tenn.; grandchildren, Brek Train and wife Brooke, Heath Train and Kylie Train; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his sister, Martha Cook. Memorial donations to Amedisys Hospice.
