Larry Train, 71, of Augusta, passed away Sunday, Aug.25, 2013.
Viewing 1-8 p.m., with family to greet friends 6-8 p.m., on Wednesday, at Headley Funeral Chapel, Augusta. Service 10 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 29, 2013, at First Baptist Church, Augusta. Burial will follow at Elmwood Cemetery, Augusta.
Larry was born in McPherson, Kan. on March 2, 1942, to the late Ruth Catherine (Tucker) and Kermit LeRoy Train. He retired as the owner of Augusta Tire and Auto after 41 years. He was also the former owner of Butler County Tire and Midway Auto Service. Larry was a member of Mystic Tie Masonic Lodge and Midian Shrine. He was a big supporter of Butler County 4-H.
On March 1, 1963 he married Shirley (McCormick) in Wichita, who survives him. He is also survived by: sons, Craig Train, and Jeremy Train and his fiancé Cindy Pletcher, all of Augusta; brother, Dennis Train of Andover; sisters, Kerma Karoly and husband John of Chicago, Ill., and Marilynn Drescher and husband Don of Hollywood, Fla.; brother in law, Stan Cook of Nashville, Tenn.; grandchildren, Brek Train and wife Brooke, Heath Train and Kylie Train; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Martha Cook.
