Irregularities found in organization's finances lead to arrest.

The former Augusta Chamber of Commerce director Kent Overaker was arrested today by the local police after the chamber board of directors investigated some irregularities with the organization's finances and turned the information over to the Augusta Department of Safety.

Chamber of Commerce president Kent Bush stated, "The Chamber and its board continue to focus on the organization's members and its mission of making a better business community for Augusta and the surrounding area."

The Augusta Department of Safety is continuing the investigation and the Gazette will update any developments.
