Suzie Locke has been named as the new activities, sales and services manager for the city of El Dorado. She will be in charge of Convention and Visitor’s Bureau activities as well as community facilities marketing for sports associations and corporate meetings.
“I’ll be working with the civics center and marketing it,” said Locke. “I’ll also be doing some marketing and promotions with all sports and meeting facilities.”
Since her appointment to the position earlier this month, Locke has been working to sort through information and hopes to hit the ground running.
“I’m really looking forward to beginning new events and activities for the community,” commented Locke. “I really want to put our facilities to good use for youth sports and family events.”
Local organizations will be able to coordinate with Locke in order to bring new events and activities to the area.
“I’m hoping to build a good connection with the college because of the new stadium and I will hopefully get to work with the YMCA and Butler Rec,” claimed Locke. “I want to cultivate new opportunities through parents and supporters.”
Locke, who is new to the community, retains a positive outlook on how this new position will affect the community.
“I want to make an impact,” said Locke. “I’m still pretty new to this community. I’m looking forward to seeing how the change is going to affect the community.”
