Harold and Beverly Erwin's golden anniversary

Harold and Beverly (West) Erwin are celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary on Aug. 30th.

They were childhood sweethearts who grew up in Allen, Okla., graduated from Allen High School and attended East Central University in Ada, Okla. They were married in Ada on Aug. 30, 1963 at the First Assembly of God Church. The ceremony was officiated by Rev. Frank Jones.

Beverly is the daughter of the late Duard and Dee West. Harold is the son of Juanita Erwin of Augusta, and the late Marshall Erwin.

The couple has three children; Melissa Tilton and husband Frank of Douglass, Michelle Brown and husband Robert of Wellington, and Jay Erwin and wife Nicole of Augusta. They also have 16 grandchildren: Emily and Frankie Tilton; Hannah, Lydia, Jubal, Micah, Joel, Brenna, Javan, Justus, Jack, Sarah, Sophia Brown; Briggs, Zander, and Westen Erwin; and one great-grandson, Beau.

Harold and Bev have lived in Augusta for 26 years. Harold is an office and a member of the board of directors for BG Products, Inc. in Wichita. Bev is a former educator, office manager, and for the past several years has enjoyed coordinating weddings and events with her company, Bev’s Creative Expressions.

The couple enjoys church activities and working in children’s ministries. They also enjoy time spent with the grands, traveling, visiting most of the 50 states, and fishing. They also have fun attending classic car events with Harold’s original 1930 Model A Coupe and 1930 Model A Roadster hot rod, which he and son, Jay restored.

There will be a celebration and Open House with family and friends in honor of their golden anniversary on Saturday, Aug. 31, in Wichita. The couple is planning to return in the fall to one of their favorite places, Carmel by the Sea, Calif.
