Frank E. Cox, 82, passed away Sunday at his home in Cassoday. Celebration of his life will be 10 a.m. Thursday with family visitation Wednesday 6-8 p.m. both at Kirby-Morris Funeral Home in El Dorado. Burial will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Graceland Cemetery in Burlington, KS.
Frank was born February 26, 1931 in Burlington, the son of Erna and Stella (Turner) Cox. He graduated from Burlington High School and joined the Kansas National Guard. He was united in marriage to Dorothy Lawrence on December 26, 1950 in Burlington. Frank was a brick layer and belonged to the brick layer union. He loved fishing, hunting and woodworking. He was an avid sports fan and enjoyed KU basketball and KSU football, and any sport he could watch.
Survivors include wife, Dorothy; sons Michael (Barbara) of Pretty Prairie, KS., John (Gail) of Wichita; brother Ray “Pete” of Burlington; granddaughters Jennifer Pautz, Julie Cox, Anastazia Cox and Savannah Cox and one great granddaughter, Aven Pautz. He was preceded in death by parents, son Danny, sister Barbara and brothers Dale, Charlie and Ernie
