Augusta Board of Education likely to approve mill levy increase

The Augusta USD 402 Board of Education is seeking a 3.07 mill levy increase for the 2013-14 school year.

A public hearing is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 15, at the district office.

Reasons given for the increase are the decrease in the district's assessed valuation over the past year, in addition to a decrease in state aid and a decrease in cash carry-over.
