James Lawrence "Larry" Kiley, 74, died Thursday, Aug. 8, 2013 at his home in Pratt. He was born April 27, 1939 at Pratt, the son of James Edward and Pauline Gertrude (Leckner) Kiley.

Larry had served 22 years in the US Navy and US Air Force Reserve. He was a police officer at Shawnee, an engineer for Rock Island Railroad and a federal railroad chief inspector. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Pratt, 4th Degree Knights of Columbus, Pratt Lions Club, volunteer with Pratt Regional Medical Center Auxiliary and had served on the Board of Trustees for Pratt Community College.

He married Eldoris Kay Pennington on Aug. 12, 1960, at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Pratt. She survives.

Other survivors include a daughter, Michelle Dick of Spivey; two sons, James L. Kiley of Harper, and Michael P. Kiley of Pratt; 11 grandchildren, one great-granddaughter and a brother William "Wil" Edward Kiley of Wichita.

He was preceded in death by a son, Jeffery Scott Kiley on June 9, 1980, and his parents.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday at Larrison Mortuary, 300 Country Club Rd, Pratt. Vigil will be at 7 p.m. Monday at the mortuary. The Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 13, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with the Rev. Floyd McKinney presiding. Burial with military honors will be in Greenlawn Cemetery, Pratt.
