  • The National Weather Service is predicting occasional showers and thunderstorms through the day today. Locally heavy rainfall possible. Highs near 80. Northeast winds 5 to 15 mph. Chance of rain near 100 percent.
    Tonight's forecast calls for occasional showers and thunderstorms. Locally heavy rainfall possible. Lows 65 to 70. Chance of rain 90 percent.
    At 8 a.m. this morning the Whitewater River reading was 18.46 feet and flood stage is 21 feet.
    Also at 8 a.m., the Walnut River reading was 7.47 feet, with flood stage at 22 feet.
    It is estimated this morning that two more feet of water is needed to run over the new spillway at the City Lake. With more rain today and tonight, that occurrence is a strong possibility.
