Barbara Allene Jenkins, 74, of El Dorado, passed away on Sunday, Aug. 4, 2013. A service of remembrance will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Carlson Funeral Home, El Dorado. Cremation will precede the services.
She was born on Jan. 4, 1939 in Wellington, the daughter of Gus and Wanda (Metz) Jones. Barbara graduated from East High School in Wichita and then from Pueblo Community College. She was a homemaker. Barbara was a Master gardener and loved to paint, knit and crochet.
On Aug. 20, 1963, she was married to Robert Jenkins in Creed, Colo.
Those who survive including her husband of the home are: her children, Bobby Jenkins of Golden, Colo., Chris Jenkins of Aurora, Colo., Gordon Jenkins and wife Mary of Cimarron, Kan., Kevin and family of Finland, and Robin Bratcher and husband Chet of Protection, Kan.; 14 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; two nieces; one nephew; a brother and his wife, Ed and Kim Madden of El Dorado; and a sister, Tamra Luckert of Pueblo, Colo.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Brian; and a sister.
