Marquerite L. Duntz, 90, passed away at home Aug. 5, 2013. Her celebration at 10 a.m. Thursday at the First Christian Church in El Dorado. Burial will follow at Sunset Lawns Cemetery.
Marquerite was born in Vinton, Iowa, to parents Phillip and Effa (Abernathy) Stoller. She graduated Smith Center High School in Smith Center, Kan. On Oct. 21, 1940 she was married to Donald Duntz. They moved to El Dorado and became members of the First Christian Church. Marquerite’s life was dedicated to working and raising her family and children. She worked for many years as a bookkeeper at Home Lumber in El Dorado and then for Thomas Chiropractic.
Surviving family members include: son, Larry (Pam) of Wichita; daughter, Barbara Ladd of El Dorado; daughter-in-law, Bonnie Duntz of El Dorado; brother, Morris Stoller of Texas; sisters Lorna Stroy of Nebraska and Donna (Thaine) Thomlinson of Smith Center; and granddaughter and caregiver Darla Walker of El Dorado. She also had 11 other grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and 13 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald; her parents; daughter, Joyce Garman; and two sons, Gene Duntz and Kent Duntz.
