  • 1 The Augusta Farmers' Market is a unique shopping experience for residents who enjoy fresh produce and delicious homemade items.
The market operates from 4 to 6:30 p.m. Tuesday evenings, and from 7 to 11 a.m. on Saturdays, and is located in the parking lot at the Augusta Senior Center, 640 Osage.
There is a nice variety of fresh squash, cucumbers, tomatoes, new potatoes, onions, and peppers. And as the season progresses, there will be even more produce.
Delicious homemade bread, jellies and preserves are offered, as well.
It's a great way to support our local growers and to discover a bounty of fresh, locally grown produce.
2 Fun at the Palmer Ranch Saturday and Sunday. A fun weekend for horse owners and riders is planned this weekend at the Palmer Ranch, 9716 U.S. Highway 54, west of Augusta. From riding clinics to workshops for horse owners to booths with items for sale, there will be lots of educational and fun events for all experience levels. (See ad on Page 8 for more details).
3 St. James 83rd Annual Ice Cream Social Saturday night. Don't miss the annual tradition of ice cream and fun. There will be homemade ice cream and a sloppy joe dinner from 5:30 to 9:30 p.m. In addition to the great food, there will be kiddie rides, games, bingo, a dunk tank, raffles and more.
