Ethel Joanne Stackley, 82, of El Dorado, died on July 23, 2013 at Lakepoint of Augusta. A celebration of Joanne’s life will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at First Christian Church, El Dorado. Visitation with the family will be from 6 to 8 Thursday evening at Carlson Funeral Home, El Dorado. Interment will follow the funeral in Sunset Lawns Cemetery, El Dorado.
Joanne was born on Feb. 16, 1931 in El Dorado, the daughter of Raymond and Ethel (Larson) Walter. She graduated from El Dorado High School and then had some college at KSU. On Feb. 25, 1951 she was married to Fred Lewis Stackley in El Dorado. He preceded her in death on June 21, 1976.
She was a school bus driver for many years and enjoyed working with computers, doing cross word puzzles and fishing.
Those she leaves are three sons and their spouses, Fred and Edwina Stackley of El Dorado, Dennis and Phyllis Stackley of Parker, Colo., and Mark Stackley and Denise Fieser of El Dorado; daughters and their spouses, Linda and Jim Anderson of Council Grove, Karen and Richard Peralez of Wellington; brothers and their spouses, Edwin and Della Walter of Missouri City, Texas, and Larry and Cheryl Walter of Houston, Texas; 14 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Carol Mould; two grandchildren, Curtis and Christina Peralez; two sons-in-law, Ernie Sigle, Doug Mould; and a daughter-in-law, Cheryl Stackley.
