Emma Jean Provo, 88, of El Dorado, died Tuesday, July 23, 2013 at Victoria Falls in Andover. A celebration of her life will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at the gravesite in Walnut Valley Memorial Park.
Emma Jean was born on July 15, 1925 in Kansas City, Mo., the daughter of Charles F. and Anna (Mann) Higgins. On Feb. 11, 1941, she was married to Harold Provo in Emporia. He preceded her in death on April 4, 2004. She and her husband owned and operated an auto parts store in El Dorado for many years. She was a member of the Ladies of the Elks; VFW Auxiliary; and loved bowling, camping and crocheting.
Those who survive are her sons and their spouses, Harold and Belva Provo of Augusta, Chuck and Deenie Provo of Fallbrook, Calif., and Ron and Colleen Provo of El Dorado; 10 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
She was also preceded in death by her husband and two sisters.
