John Arthur Cloyes, 71, passed away on July 20, 2013 in El Dorado. Celebration of his life will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday; visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, both at Kirby Morris Funeral Home. John was born in El Dorado on Aug. 6, 1941 to Dr. Arthur P. and Elizabeth (Catlin) Cloyes. He was married to Eleanor Wilson on July 29, 1972 in Arvada, Colo. John worked as a maintenance mechanic at the Coors Brewery Company retiring in 1996. He enjoyed hunting, motorcycles and dirt bikes, working on cars and fishing. John was a member of the NRA and the First United Methodist Church.
John is survived by his children, Roxane and Merle Biehler of Great Bend, John Joseph and Glenna Cloyes of Hanford, Calif., and Thomas Arthur Cloyes of Hagerstown, Md.; a sister, Mary Beth and Richard Smith of Sanford, N.C.; grandchildren, Tamara, Jeremy, Emily, Paige, Afton, Kammi and Bobby; and great grandchildren, Preston, Bobby, Hunter, Ethan, Harley and Cooper. He was preceded in death by his wife, parents and sister Connie. A memorial has been established with the Kansas Humane Society or Guide dogs for the Blind of San Rafeal, Calif.
