    Visitation 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, at Lakeview Funeral Home, Wichita. Funeral at 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 24, 2013, at University United Methodist Church.
    He was born May 18, 1925, to Charles and Beulah (Kisner) Adams in Augusta. David was a retired Navy Captain and principal of the Wichita Area Vocational Technical Center. He was an active member of the East Southeast Lions Club, Military Officers Association of America, University United Methodist Church, and Koinonia First Methodist Church. David was an avid Wichita State University Shocker fan. He was a volunteer for McConnell AFB Hospital and Meals on Wheels.
    He was preceded in death by his parents; wives, Marilyn Thelma Adams and Esther Newton-Adams; and brother, Archie Adams.
    David is survived by: children, David Earl (Lisa) Adams, Jr., Bea (Jesse) Colburn, Donna Adams-Zimmerman, and Debra (Russ) Kerchner; grandchildren, Trey (Mandy) Adams, Tara (Brad) McDaniel, D.J. Zimmerman, Lindsay (Michael) Blurton, Jenny (Eric) Knippa, Jennifer (Scott) Ruse, Jason Ludwick; great-grandchildren, Christian (Jamie Mallinson) McDaniel, Kayla McDaniel, Madison McDaniel, Cody Adams, Courtney Adams, Caeden Adams, Bryley Adams, Kaycee Zimmerman, Kelsey Zimmerman, Parker Zimmerman, Saraphynn Knippa, and Dominik Knippa; great-great granddaughter, Madilyn Rose Zimmerman; brother, Charles Ray (Alice Piper) Adams; step-daughter, Sharon Gilbert, and caretakers, Jason Leach and Kathleen Shepherd.
