Take off problems
Kansas Highway Patrol has released more information on the small plane crash landing on US 54/400,4 miles east of Augusta, near the Haverhill exit, on Saturday morning. A Beechcraft Sundowner, fixed wing single-engine plane was attempting to take off from a from a nearby grass field, struck a barbed wire fence and came to rest on the shoulder of the westbound lane of the highway.
The pilot, Caleb N. Marsh, 28, is the manager of the El Dorado Municpal Airport and the passenger was Craig M. Cooper, 44, of Andover. Both men were wearing safety restraints and neither were treated for injuries.
