Charles J. McGoyne, 89, of El Dorado, passed away on Friday, July 19, 2013 at SBA Hospital in El Dorado. Celebration of his life will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Carlson Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Walnut Valley Memorial Park.
Charles was born on Feb. 17, 1924, in Treece, Kan., the son of Charles and Pansy (Jones) McGoyne. At the age of 4 years old he came to live in El Dorado and served in the United States Army in Italy from 1943 to 1945. After being honorably discharged from the Army he was united in marriage to Hazel Martin on Dec. 19, 1945 in El Dorado. Charles worked for the City Water Department and was and member of the Trinity United Methodist Church, Patmos Masonic Lodge, VFW and American Legion.
He leaves his wife Hazel of 67 years; brothers, Franklin J. Randall and Raymond F. Randall, and sisters, V. Joan Branstetter and Karen Greenlee, all of El Dorado. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
His parents, five brothers and two sisters preceded Charles in death.
