While in Portsmouth, NH this past weekend I had two really great beers.
The first was Resonation Pale Ale by Great Rhythm Brewing Co. I found it at the Dolphin Stalker Restaurant, I had never had this beer before, and was very surprised by it. I usually have one beer, and then if I have a second one its a different kind, but I liked this one so much I stayed with it. I can’t wait to try whatever else comes from them. If you haven’t had this beer its worth seeking out.
I was tired, but needed to make a stop at the Portsmouth Brewing Company for a beer. I have to go there when I’m in Portsmouth as a trip is not complete without a beer from them. I went with their Barleywine.
This is not a beer I frequently drink, but this was on cask, and I love cask ales. It was the best barleywine I think I’ve ever had. The smell alone was amazing. I wish they had bombers of this, because I would have gotten one, but they didn’t. If you haven’t ever been to the Portsmouth Brewing Company. you need to make the trip. You won’t be disappointed.
I did other stuff up there too like go on a boat tour of the harbor, and drove out to Lee, NH to Flaghill Winery where I got married, but really those are minor compared to the three beers I had. At least it is for the purposes of this blog. I can’t wait to head back up there again. Just a great area of New Hampshire.
