Summer is here and the heat has arrived. However, this has not slowed down the youth involved in 4-H.
Each year, the 4-H Fashion Review is held prior to the start of the Butler County Fair. This year’s 4-H Fair Public Fashion Review will be Saturday.
The public revue will begin at 2:30 p.m. at the El Dorado High School Auditorum.
Fifty youth will be modeling outfits they either purchased or made in the clothing construction and buymanship projects. Those attending will see outfits from evening gowns to jeans and cowboy boots. Prior to the start of the public review, these youth will be judged on their outfit along with general appearance and knowledge.
Grand and Reserve Grand Champions will be named during the public review.
These young men and women put a lot of time in to making sure they have just the right outfit and look their best while still understanding the project,” said 4-H Youth Extension Agent Charlene Miller. “They will proudly model their outfits on a stage in front of a crowd of people, some of which they do not know. I am proud of them and their confidence.”
The remainder of the Butler County Fair will kick-off on July 27 and run through July 31 at the Butler County Fair Grounds and 4-H/Community Building in El Dorado.
“This will be another great fair showcasing the Butler County 4-H Youth and their talents,” Miller said.
