If you enter the city of El Dorado from any direction, you'll notice that the streetscapes have been dressed up - and not just a little bit!
If you enter the city of El Dorado from any direction, you'll notice that the streetscapes have been dressed up - and not just a little bit! The natural beauty of floriculture and green plants adorns sidewalks, bridges, walkways, street lights, and water parks. If you haven't noticed this developing in the last few years, don't worry...there's still hope for you!
A hard working City employee by the name of Sue Austin is to thank for this. She can be seen at the break of day, on weekends, and in the evenings -- watering and babying those plants to keep them alive and looking spectacular.
And did I mention trees? Hundreds of new trees have also been cultivated, which have already added splendor and a hint of majesty to our streets, parks and roadways. Again, the work isn't over after they are rooted into the ground. Having to endure the worst drought that this area has seen in years, the task of watering these saplings has now come into play. But that hasn't stopped her!
So take time to stop and look around, maybe even stopping to smell the roses. And the next time you see Sue, tell her you appreciate her efforts. The City of El Dorado is very very fortunate to have such a talent in its workforce. She can be just as proud of her "Garden of Eden" in the city, as we are to have her here! Way to go, Sue! Here's green thumbs up to you.
P.S. I'd vote to give Sue a raise, wouldn't you?
