It's almost finished.

There is good news for those anxiously awaiting the opening of the well-traveled intersection of Kelly and Ohio Streets. The project will be completed early next month.

The project has closed the main traffic route connecting the north and south parts of town for a couple of months.

Everything is currently on time and on budget. The sanitary sewer line portion of the intersection is complete. Demolition and pavement removal complete and much of the concrete curb, gutter, and driveway entrance work is also finished.

Interim City Manager Josh Shaw advised, “Over the next two weeks, the contractor will be working on sidewalks, retaining walls, and finishing installation of the overhead traffic signals. As of Wednesday, July 10, the project was on working day 37 of 60.”

The intersection is expected to be open just in time for the beginning of school, Aug. 15th.
