  • The calendar may say that it is July in Kansas, but the weather isn’t exactly our norm for this time of the year.
Our current sunny, mild conditions are forecasted to continue on through the 4th of July holiday. Daytime temps for the next few days will hover in the 80’s and then dip into the 60’s during the overnight hours. Winds should also stay down on the Fourth, with a little breeze around 10 mph currently predicted for our area.  There is a slight chance of some isolated showers and thunderstorms east of the Turnpike on Wednesday afternoon and evening, but no severe weather is expected.
Overall, we can look forward to some gorgeous conditions for spending time outside with family and friends, celebrating Independence Day! For those of you whose plans including motors, open water and flames (boating, jet-skiing, campfires, fireworks, etc) .... enjoy the weather but please keep safety in mind while you’re having fun.  Below are just two of the many websites out there that offer helpful hints on navigating the hazards of the holiday!

And on a separate note… for our emergency services and military personnel who will be working and serving (and looking out for us!) on the holiday – thank you for all that you do!
