A youth, identified as TJ, entered a plea of no contest in charges relating to him taking a handgun to El Dorado High School during the last school year.
According to a plea agreement, count one was dismissed and he pleaded guilty to an amended charge two of criminal use of weapon/possession of a firearm on school property.
District Magistrate Judge Kirstin Hutchison accepted the plea and found him guilty on the charge.
Assistant Butler County Attorney Brett Sweeney said because of the youth currently being on community corrections probation, the state did request a PDI be completed before disposition in this case. The next hearing was set for Aug. 13. During that hearing they also will address an erovocation case.
