Gary A. Starks, 50, of El Dorado, died Sunday, June 9 in Cushing, Okla. Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, with visitation with the family present from 6-7:30 p.m. on Friday, all at Carlson Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Sunset Lawns Cemetery, El Dorado.
He was born Sept. 3, 1962 in Hutchinson, the son of Nolan and Joy (Jones) Starks. He was a pipefitter working for Wanzek Company. On July 7, 2007 he was married to Rhonda Widener in El Dorado. Gary loved to fish, make jewelry, cook, most of all being with family, attending the veterans reunion and was the drummer for several groups.
Those he leaves include his wife, Rhonda; daughters and their husbands, Tama and J.T. Thompson of El Dorado, and April and Eric Mann and Tia and Lenny Bruce, all of McPherson; brothers, Nolan Parker Starks, Jr. and wife Donna of Adrian, Mich., Robert Lee Starks and wife Linda, John Norvin Starks and wife Barbara, James William Starks, and Christopher M. Britton and partner Steven Hawkins, all of Hutchinson; sisters, Sherry Louise Starks and Laura Anne Castor and husband Fernando of Hutchinson; three grandchildren, Hunter Thompson, Michelle Mann, Carsen Bruce and a baby on the way; and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
