Shane C. Baker, 34, of Rosalia, died Friday, May 24, 2013 at Harry Hynes Hospice, Wichita. A celebration of Shane’s life will be at 3 p.m. Tuesday at First Christian Church, El Dorado.
He was born on Nov. 13, 1978, the son of Robert and Patsy (Minge) Baker. Shane graduated from Bluestem High School and received a Bachelor’s Degree in Animal Science from Kansas State University. He worked on the project for protecting the Flint Hills; loved to hunt, fish, target shooting, and doing leather work.
On Sept. 8, 2007, Shane and Amanda Spaht were married at First Baptist Church.
Those who survive including his wife Mandy, of the home are: his children, Sydney Baker and Brody Baker; brothers, Brian Baker and wife Cathy of Valley Center and Kevin Baker of Augusta; sisters and their husbands, Sandra Kay and Terry Bell of Rosalia, and Lea Ann and Chris Cooper of El Dorado; his parents, Robert and Patsy Baker of Oakland, Ark.; his in-laws, Brian and Patty Schmidtberger, Russell and Shannon Spaht, and Steve and Jacque Sundgren; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Jenny Sundgren.
