  • The Coutts Museum of Art will be holding their free monthly Brown Bag Lunch Program Tuesday from noon to 1 p.m.
Wichita singer/songwriter Tammy Stamps will be performing for the program.
Born in California, but with most of her roots in Wichita, Stamps has traveled the U.S. performing her music.
Athough she is a fifth-degree black belt master, has been an Olympic contender and owner of her own martial arts academy, music has always been her life passion. She sang in local establishments for years.
When her debut single, “Free” was released, her music became popular on indie internet radio internationally. Her single, “You Make Me Whole” is now a popular request for weddings. Her song, I’ll Never Leave” hit the number one slot on the Female Musician Web site in 2007 and 2008.
Inspired by her own life experience, Stamps employs acoustic guitar to create simple, heartfelt tunes that engage her listeners to sing along.
Her unique sound is easy to listen to, and has been described as contemporary folk, with emotion.
The Coutts Museum of Art, located in downtown El Dorado is a regional destination art museum that houses more than 1,500 works of art in an historic downtown building. The collection includes Art of the American West, contemporary American, European and regional Kansas art.
The museum is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Friday and noon to 4 p.m. Saturday.
The museum and all Brown Bag Programs are always free and open to the public. The Brown Bag program is funded in part by El Dorado Main Street. Check the Coutts’ Facebook page at www.facebook.com/ couttsmuseum for updates on museum activities.
