I walk my dog through Garvin Park nearly every day. I can always tell when summer has arrived by the amount of litter strewn around the bleachers and the ball diamonds. This morning I spent about 15 minutes picking up trash. I don't think the culprits are the young people playing ball. It seems to be adults or others who are spectators. I don't know that there is much anyone can do. Perhaps if the organizations that use the park are fined, people would think twice about littering. There are trash cans strategically placed, so there is no excuse for being so lazy. I would just tell these people to take a little pride in their community and be responsible. Set a good example for others. If the culprits are from out of town, then pick up the trash yourselves. Come on people. It's not that hard!!
