  • Life's victories don't always go to the strongest or the faster man, but to the man who thinks he can!
Everyone loves a winner. What we don't know is the hardship and struggle that those who refuse to give up go through. The victory is found in staying the course.
Consider three areas of life that will be worth the struggle, if you can stay the course.
First, stay close to God. The appeal of the world has cost many a soul to lose or forfeit because they thought the grass was greener on the other side.
The truth is that this old world is temporary. God is eternal. One day the temporal will give way to the eternal. James writes, "Draw near to God and He will draw near to you." (James 4:8).
Victory is assured to those who stay close to God - those who stay the course!
Second, take time for your family. We live in a fast-paced society. Today many families are suffering because the family is no longer the priority, but just a place to eat and sleep.
A nation is only as strong as the family. As the family goes, so goes society. If we are to win the battle of life, we must take time for our family. Don't let Satan rob you of your marriage, your children, or your life!
Stay the course and keep your family together.
Finally, keep the faith. Faith in God; His word has kept and still keeps those who live by faith.
When the struggles of life come upon us (and they will), faith in God and His word keeps those who keep him. The apostle Paul did, for he writes, "I have fought the good fight, I have finished the course, I have kept the faith; in the future there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day." (2 Timothy 4: 7,8).
The victory that enabled Paul to win the crown of life was his faith in God, because he stayed the course in life.
There is something to be said for those who stay the course. Let your life be remembered as one who did just that, therefore stay the course!
