Mona Lee Ingold, Age 83, beloved wife and mother, passed away surrounded by family and friends, on Wednesday, May 8, 2013.
Visitation with family and greeting friends will be from 7 p.m.- 8 p.m. on Friday May 10, 2013.
The service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday May 11, 2013 all at Headley Funeral Chapel, Augusta, KS. Burial will follow at Elmwood Cemetery, Augusta, KS. Mona Lee was born in Winfield, Kansas in her grandparents' home on September 22, 1929 to the late Laura Mae (Hamm) and Joseph Marshall Huston. Mona was a graduate of Augusta Sr. High School.
Upon graduation, Mona Lee was employed at the telephone company as a telephone operator. Mona and Wesley Ingold married on April 3, 1949. They were married for 64 years.
Mona Lee farmed alongside Wesley for many years before opening the Fina Station in Towanda in 1964, followed by the opening of the Fina Station in Augusta in 1965. Mona maintained all bookkeeping for the farming and service stations.
She also worked at Criss Concrete of Augusta and retired from Hizey Service and Supply after 29 years. She also served as a Brownie and a Girl Scout Leader. Mona Lee is survived by her husband, Wesley M. Ingold; daughter, Susan K. Ingold, and her son-in-law Frank Rollins. She was preceded in death by her parents Laura Mae (Hamm) and Joseph Marshall Huston; and grandson, Jacob Louis Lambert.
